Wat Salak Nuea Ubosot The Buddha image housed in Wat Chong Lom Wat Pasukmaneechuck Ubosot 14. Wat Salak Nuea Located at Ban Salak Nuea, Tambon Baan Mai and close to Wat Srirattanaram or Wat Bang Pung and Wat Chong Lom, the temple was built in Rattanakosin era. It is assumed that the temple was built before 1905 because its name and history appeared in the temple lists published by Ministry of Religious Affairs. The reference to the temple was recorded in the lists as “Wat Salak Nuea, Tambon Ban Mai under the supervision of Phra Sang abbot in Mahayan Buddhist sect. A five-room Ubosot with Rattanakosin architecture is remarkable in its two-story tier roof, front and back porches/platforms, and Cho Fa with stucco gable in front. The Buddha image is covered with cement, gold leaves, and elaborately decorated with glass in Lai Kanok Kan Khot, a flame-like spiral motif. 15. Wat Chong Lom Located near the Chao Phraya River and Nonthaburi Bridge, the temple was established by refugees who escaped Burmese troops and settled their families at the east of the Chao Phraya River during Thonburi period. They also founded a community there. The temple was meticulously built by the cooperation of Bang Pung village and Bang Kao village. Inside contains a massive five-room Ubosot and in the south is Phra Vihara. Decoration with glass tiles on the walls reflects the image of Buddha in a gesture of preaching on a three-story stand facing the Chao Phraya River. Moreover, there is a Sala Kanprien, a bell hall, a monk residence in Thai- style house, and a waterfront pavilion where thousands of fish remain. 16. Wat Pasukmaneechuck The temple is located at Bang Pood District close to Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. Mr. Pasukmaneechuck and Mrs. Nhenk Maneechuck donated the land for temple construction in 1974. The edifices including Ubosot, Sala Kanprien, or a hall for sermons, a monk residence, and a crematory platform have been recently built. 65
