 PAKKRET Travel Guide Wat Rueang Wet Mongkhon is a relatively new temple, established in 1957 on land donated by Mr. Sanan Timrueangwet, whose family name inspired the temple’s name. The termRueangWet (from the founder’s surname) combined with Mongkhon (“auspicious”) gives the meaning: “A temple built as an auspicious legacy of the Timrueangwet family.” The temple’s ordination hall, built in 1977 in a traditional Thai architectural style, stands on a spacious courtyard.
