 PAKKRET Travel Guide Wat Ku Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Ku is an ancient temple dating back to the late Ayutthaya to early Rattanakosin period, around 1752. Legend has it that the temple was founded by Phaya Jeng, a Mon leader who migrated to settle in Ko Kret. The temple features Mon-influenced architectural and artistic elements, including oil painted murals inside the old ordination hall depicting the life of the Buddha, and a Mon style chedi. Another highlight of Wat Ku is the Royal Pavilion of Phra Nang Ruea Lom, dedicated to Queen Sunandha Kumariratana, consort of King Rama V.
