In every Mon community, after they have established their houses, they immediately construct a temple. Also, Wat Hong Thong was established in the same way. The temple is believed to be constructed during Ayutthaya period and was abandoned. When the Mon people arrived in this area, they renovated the temple to its former glory again. It is located on the bank of Chao Phraya River, in Bang Pood subdistrict, Pakkret municipality, Nonthaburi province. Inside the main hall, there are paintings, describing the story of the Buddha, and a big Buddha with roundfull face, representing abundance.
