29 แม่น�้ำลัดเกร็ดเกิดขึ้นจากการขุดคลองลัดล�ำน�้ำ เจ้าพระยา เรียกว่า “คลองลัดเกร็ดน้อย” ต่อมา กระแสน�้ำเปลี่ยนทิศทางเซาะตลิ่งพัง จนกลายเป็น แม่น�้ำ วัดจึงตั้งอยู่ริมน�้ำเจ้าพระยาสายใหม่ มีลักษณะ ทางสถาปัตยกรรมของพระอุโบสถสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา พระพุทธรูปส�ำคัญของวัด คือ พระพุทธไสยาสน์ หรือ หลวงพ่อพระนอน ยาว ๒๒ เมตร ปัจจุบันประดิษฐาน อยู่ในวิหาร มักจะมีคนมาบนบานขอพรให้งานส�ำเร็จ ดังประสงค์ ถ้าได้สัญจรผ่านริมแม่น�้ำจะรู้ทันทีว่าอยู่ ถึงวัดกลางเกร็ดเรียบร้อยแล้ว Lad Kret River was the result from the excavation of Chao Phraya River that once was a canal called Lad Kret Noi Canal. Later the canal became the river as a result of the erosion of the riverbank. That is why the temple is located on the new Chao Phraya River. The temple’s architecture is constructed in Ayutthaya style. It contains a reclining Buddha called Luang Pho Pra Non measuring 22 meters in length. People often come to the temple to pray for the Buddha and wish for their success in their career. If you travel along the river, you will definitely enjoy the scenery of the temple.
