27 วัด กลางเกร็ดเป็นวัดส�ำคัญที่นักท่องเที่ยวให้ความสนใจมาไหว้พระและรับพรสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ตั้งแต่ต้น รัตนโกสินทร์ โดยเฉพาะประชาชนมักจะมาขอพรหลวงพ่อโต เพื่อขอให้ท�ำการค้าเจริญรุ่งเรือง ร�่ำรวย นอกจากนี้ น�้ำมนต์ใต้พระอุโบสถของวัด ยังเป็นที่นิยมของชาวบ้าน เชื่อว่าศักดิ์สิทธิ์ วัดตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่ราบลุ่มแม่น�้ำลัดเกร็ด ต�ำบลปากเกร็ด สร้างตั้งแต่สมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยาตอนกลาง ก่อนมีการ ขุดคลองลัดเกร็ด เมื่อ พ.ศ. ๒๓๑๐ พม่าได้มายึดด่านปากเกร็ด จับคนไทยที่ผ่านด่านนี้ สมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราช โปรดเกล้าให้คนมอญเข้ามาพึ่งพระบรมโพธิสมภาร มาตั้งบ้านเรือนอยู่ที่บ้านปากเกร็ด ใกล้ด่านปากเกร็ดจึงมีคนมอญ จ�ำนวนมากมาอยู่ที่วัดกลางเกร็ด และได้รับการดูแลปฏิสังขรณ์ในการท�ำบุญ ของชุมชนไทยที่ปากด่านจนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ W at Klang Kret is an important temple that tourists, especially business people, often visit to pray to the Buddha to get blessings since the beginning of Rattanakosin era. In addition, the holy water from the temple is said to be very sacred. The temple is located on the bank of Lad Kret River in Pakkret sub district. It had been built in the middle of Ayuthaya era before the digging of Lad Kret canal. In 2310 BE, Burmese soldiers held captives of Thai people who travelled past this area. King Tak Sin allowed Mon people to establish their homes in this place. Thus, there are a lot of Mon people who are responsible in renovating the temple in this area.
