Color of Life Migration with settlement and other employment purposes has an impact on population structure of Pak Kret. Here, most households are nuclear families. Based on the January 1, 2007 census, Pak Kret has a total population of 167,464 with an average population density of 4,646 persons per square kilometer. Pak Kret is characterized by urban and rural integration. A number of immigrants with different races here include Thai people (who are remarkable in their peace loving, compromise and strong faith in Buddhism. They live along the Chao Phraya River and earn their living by growing fruit), Thai-Chinese people (who are diligent and skilled in trading. They live and run a small business along the riverside), Thai- Muslims from Pattani and Saiburi (who seriously observe their religious codes), and Thai-Mons (who have possessed rich cultural heritage. They have settled in the area since Ayutthaya period). Industries (e.g. Plywood and timber, textile and garment, liqueur, and automotive factories, etc.), vegetable and fruit growing (such as durian, coconut and sugar palm), livestock raising (cow herding in some Tambons), as well as pottery (Mon-style jars, basins and pot known as a symbol of Nonthaburi) form a basis of economic activities of Pak Kret.
